Ace the OSCE is a virtual one-on-one tutoring service designed to help international pharmacists pass the PEBC Qualifying Exam- Part 2 (OSCE).

The main requirement to pass this exam is… practice, practice, practice. The more you practice, the more likely you will pass the exam! The OSCE relies heavily on process, thus with effective questioning you can conquer any OSCE case! Ace the OSCE has developed a streamlined process that will help simplify the components of the exam, while boosting student confidence. Ace the OSCE closely follows “NAPRA Professional Competencies for Canadian Pharmacists at Entry to Practice” as a guideline for our process to ensure the information is directly relatable to the OSCE exam.

In addition to a customizable tutoring schedule, you will have access to a growing catalog of OSCE cases and rubrics, along with a comprehensive brochure outlining Ace the OSCE’s bulletproof strategy WITH interactive AND non-interactive practice cases. Your tutor will focus on YOU and YOUR learning needs and will tailor each session towards areas that need improving.

How is Ace the OSCE Different?

Have you ever noticed that when you’re in a classroom or participating in a small group activity, your needs are not the priority of the instructor or the group?

Through engaging in one-on-one tutoring with Ace the OSCE YOUR learning needs are ALWAYS at the forefront. You invest a lot of time and money into preparing for the OSCE exam, Ace the OSCE makes it worthwhile. You are NOT just a number to us.

The exam consists of 13 stations: 10 interactive cases, 2 non-interactive cases and 1 pre-test station (interactive or non-interactive). Who am I?

My name is Rebecca McLean and I graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta PharmD program in 2019. After completing the PEBC examination in May 2019, I practiced at an inner city community pharmacy in Edmonton. Many of my coworkers were international pharmacy graduates who had the intention of taking the PEBC examination. I helped my coworker pass his examination through coaching, writing and practicing a multitude of cases, and focusing on PROCESS. I have also been a preceptor for pharmacy technician students, so I am no stranger to tutoring!

As a graduate of the University of Alberta, I have spent countless hours practicing mock OSCE cases and receiving thorough case debriefings. This expertise, along with passing the examination myself, working as a community pharmacist to solve patient-care problems and tutoring other students provides the platform to which Ace the OSCE was created.

Ultimately, I saw value in helping international graduates pass their examinations and this is what sparked my interest in creating ACE the OSCE. I look forward to being your colleague one day.
